Our Camino Portugués Begins March 23

On March 23, Nancy and I fly to Porto, Portugal where we will begin our 150 mile pilgrimage north to Santiago de Compostela.

After an overnight Air Canada flight from Montreal through Brussels, we will arrive in Porto mid-day.

After checking into The Poet's Inn, we'll find our way over to the cathedral to pick up our Pilgrim's Credential. This will literally be our admission ticket for being recognized as a pilgrim and being allowed to stay in the albergues/hostels along The Way. We'll have our passport stamped numerous times ever day, in churches, albergues, and other sites. Upon reaching Santiago, it will be the Credential that proves we walked the required distance to receive our Compostela or certificate of accomplishment.

We'll have rest of the day to visit Porto, enjoy some good Portuguese food and wine, and prepare to start out Camino the next morning.

Santiago (Saint James) here we come. Buen Camino!
